Established in August of 1996, The International School began admitting students to its primary and middle school programs based on the ideals and philosophy of the International Baccalaureate (IB). By October of the same year, the school was awarded authorization to offer the Middle Years Program (MYP). With this authorization, The International School became the third school in Asia offering this newly conceived innovative education system, which incorporates the latest trends and philosophies in education. Following the successful implementation of the MYP, the school attained authorization from the IB to offer its pre-university high school Diploma program in August 2001. Most recently we registered with Cambridge and EdExcel boards to offer the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) program.

Over the years, the School has grown from strength to strength. This is in spite of the fact that the local community continues to harbor insecurity regarding the relatively new and unfamiliar IB system of education. This insecurity is because parents and local educators are reluctant to change from the status quo of examination based education to a 'revolutionary' education program based on the concept of skills based learning and criterion based assessment.

In spite of the challenges, the school graduated its first MYP batch of 22 students in the year 2000 and we continue to prepare students in the MYP for the rigor of the pre-university high school IB diploma program. We achieved our second academic landmark by graduating our first 30 IB Diploma students to colleges across 4 continents in 2003.

IB diploma and certificate holders from our institute have been, to date, offered admissions in the following universities throughout the world: Bristol(UK), University of Edinburgh(UK), Warwick University(UK), University of Abertay Dundee (UK), Imperial College(UK), Kings College(UK), Sussex University(UK), William and Mary(USA), Franklin and Marshall(USA), University of Florida(USA), Purdue Engineering(USA), Fashion Institute of Technology (USA), Ryerson University(Canada), York University(USA), University of Toronto (Canada), McGill University(Canada), University of Wollongong(Australia), F.A.S.T.(Pakistan), College of Business Management(Pakistan), Institute of Business Administration(Pakistan) and Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture (Pakistan).
