ACADEMIC RULES AND REGULATIONS

1. School Timings and Attendance

  1. You are required to maintain a minimum of 90% attendance.
  2. You will not be allowed to miss more than one school day in any month, without a proper Physician Authorization.
  3. Any emergency request for absence will have to be approved by the school before the student misses the school.
  4. During school hours, you will NOT be allowed to leave the school premises without a specific request from the parents with a genuine reason. This applies to all situations, irrespective of a free period or not.
  5. Coming late, you will not be allowed to enter the school and will be returned from the gate. Parents’ slips for allowing a late entry will not be accepted. The day will be counted as absent.
  6. If you miss a school day, you will not be allowed to enter the school the following day without an explanatory note from the parents. The note will be checked at the gate.
2. Class Room Behavior

  1. The timings of the DIPLOMA classes will be ruled by the clock in the corridor.
  2. You will be required to be seated in the class room within five minutes of starting of the period.
  3. If the teacher is not in the class within those five minutes it should be reported to the IB Coordinator. Only one of you will leave the class to make the report.
  4. Classes can be cancelled only by the direction of the IB Coordinator.
  5. Your missing any class during school without any plausible reason will be regarded as a malpractice
3. Assignments and Examination

  1. If you miss any of the Scheduled Assessments then you will have to take the missed test on the very next attendance day. It will be administered in the library after the student's last class. Lack of preparation or awareness will not be accepted as an excuse.
  2. You are required to secure a minimum IB grade of 4 or equivalent. Anyone scoring less will be administered the test again after two days. The process will continue unless the student has acquired minimum level in above tests.
  3. You are personally responsible for securing information about any assignment or test scheduled by the teacher, whether present or absent. No excuses will be accepted
  4. If you do not submit an appropriately completed assignment (minimum IB grade 4) then you will be held back from leaving the school to get the assignment completed.
  5. As a first year diploma student, you will have to secure a minimum cumulative IB grade of 24 to be promoted to the second year.
  6. You are required to score a minimum IB grade of 4 in all HL non science subjects to be allowed to continue and a minimum grade of IB grade 5 for science subjects.
