AWARD OF THE IB DIPLOMA
Candidates whose total score exceeds 24 points will be awarded a Diploma based on the following criteria:
  • 1. Grades awarded in all six subjects groups
  • 2. Satisfactory completion of the Extended Essay
  • 3. Satisfactory completion of the TOK course
  • 4. Satisfactory completion of CAS activities
  • 5. No Grade 1 in any Higher Level (HL) subject
  • 6. Scores of 24, 25, 26 or 27 have no Failing Condition
  • 7. Scores of 28 have only one Failing Condition
  • 8. No evidence of malpractice by the candidate

Failing Conditions:

  • 1. An elementary grade for both Extended Essay and TOK
  • 2. A grade 2 in any Higher Level (HL) subject
  • 3. Each grade 3 in a Higher Level (HL) subject not compensated by a grade 5 in another HL subject
  • 4. A grade 1 in any Standard Level (SL) subject
  • 5. Two or more grades 2 in any Standard Level (SL) subject
  • 6. Four or more grades 3
  • 7. Two or more grades 3 with a grade 2 at Standard Level (SL)
