INFORMATION FOR ALL APPLICANTS
All applicants to the school must meet our age appropriate English Language and
Literacy requirement, and our qualitative and Analytical Skills requirement.
ENGLISH LANGUAGE AND LITERACY REQUIREMENT
English is the language of instruction at TIS |

All applicants, regardless of country of origin or citizenship status, must demonstrate
competence and literacy in the English language prior to admission. |
|
|
|
|
|
Competence is expected in all four of the following skills: listening, reading,
speaking, and writing. |
|
|
|
|
|
Applicants to must demonstrate English language competence and literacy in one of
the following ways: |

Obtain a grade of 75% or higher in an eligible English Literature Course. See Note
1.
Obtain a grade of B or higher in the English Language and Literature Course of UK
based 0-level, GCSE, or IGCSE qualification. See Note 2.
Obtain an IB grade of 4 or higher in any English Course of an IB World School. See
note 2.
Obtain a grade of 75% or higher in SSC of an IBCC recognized Examination Board in
Pakistan. See note 2.
Obtain a satisfactory grade in the TIS admission or departmental entrance test

schools include those modeled on a US , UK, or Canadian secondary school system
where the language of instruction and examination is English.

QUANTITATIVE AND ANALYTICAL ANALYSIS
TIS requires specific age appropriate school math courses for admission. Applicants
must demonstrate competence in quantitative and analytical skills in one of the
following ways.
1. Obtain a grade of 70% or above in the math course required by their program.
2. Obtain a satisfactory grade in the TIS admission or departmental entrance test

Class Placement
Students will be placed in their age appropriate year group.
We follows the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum throughout the school.
This includes the Primary Years Programme (IB PYP), Middle Years Programme (IB MYP)
and the IB Diploma. |

Diverse Qualifications Admission Policy |

Each term, many more admission applications are received than can be accepted. Academic
performance is the main criterion for admission and is used exclusively in 90% of
cases. However, some candidates have other attributes and achievements that should
be considered in determining admission.

- 1. demonstrated commitment and/or excellence in other endeavours; or
2. presented a clear and valid reason for attending the TIS; or
3. succeeded in their studies in spite of difficult circumstances.

TIS will select up to 10% of new students, taking into account these diverse qualifications.

This admission policy is not available to full IB Diploma program, and applies only
to candidates who meet the published minimum academic admission requirements, the
English language and literacy requirements, and the analytical and quantitative
skills requirement for admission (see opposite) except where otherwise noted. |

Students with Disabilities |

Academically qualified students who have a physical, sensory or specific learning
disability are encouraged to attend TIS. TIS will ensure that applicants are not
denied admission as a result of their disability. Students seeking exemption from an admission requirement on the basis of a disability should contact the registrar. |
