Created in 1968, the International Baccalaureate Organization's program for
motivated students, aged 16 to 19 years, is a rigorous secondary school course
which offers the option of studying towards either certificates
or an IB Diploma.
The Diploma comprises a two-year comprehensive curriculum that
includes
six academic groups and three unique interdisciplinary programs.
Students gain a strong and balanced exposure to the humanities, sciences, mathematics,
languages and arts, which prepare them for university and for active participation
in a global society. IB diploma holders gain admission to selective universities
throughout the world.
As Certificate candidates, students may register for a selected
number of group subjects of their own choice and are not required to fulfil the
unique program requirements. Such students will be awarded certificates for the
subjects evaluated by the IBO. Certificate students also qualify for admission to
undergraduate colleges/universities.
